After Deadly E-Bike Crashes, N.Y. Lawmakers Consider Crackdown

The City Council on Tuesday is expected to present 17 proposals to make electric bikes and scooters safer for riders and pedestrians.Among the bills under consideration are ones that would ban the sale of some high-speed e-bikes that are currently legal and that would increase penalties for riders who flee the scene of a crash.
